Regarded as one of the greatest works of world literature, The Divine Comedy is an epic poem finished by Dante Alighieri in 1321 that portrays the human soul's quest for redemption through a journey extending from hell to purgatory and paradise. This special edition compiles the remarkable illustrations of the English poet and artist William Blake, which bring a distinct dimension to the work. During the final years of his life, Blake produced 102 drawings and watercolour pieces for Dante’s masterpiece, reinterpreting the dark and luminous realms of the poem through his individual imagination.
